Square Enix hosted its second-ever E3 press conference which was arguably better than the debut show in 2018. In this year’s event, the company revealed a bunch of new games as well as some additional details for titles which were announced a while back. You can watch the full conference in a video below. However, we’ve prepared a short summary with the 5 biggest topics covered during E3 2019.

1. Marvel’s Avengers

Probably the biggest reveal of the night at Square Enix E3 press conference was the long-rumored Marvel’s Avengers game. Marvel and Square Enix first announced their deal back in 2017 and we haven’t heard anything about it ever since… Until now. The new game is being developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal. According to the developers, Avengers will be a service-based game similar to Destiny or The Division, with planned content releases for over multiple years. It also features online co-op. The game should be released on May 15th, 2020.

2. Final Fantasy

During Square Enix E3 show, Final Fantasy got plenty of attention from the publisher. In fact, the news regarding the franchize took a lot of precious time on the stage, thankfully, for a good reason. Final Fantasy VII Remake got its release date which is set for March 3rd. In addition, we now know that Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is also in the works. However, no release date was given.

3. Outriders

People Can Fly – a studio known for their Gears of War: Judgment game revealed their new title which will be published by Square Enix. Outriders is a new cooperative shooter game which will allow players to form teams of up to 3 players and explore a dark and desperate sci-fi world in search of the source of a mysterious signal. The game is set to release next summer and will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

4. Oninaki

By the end of this summer fans of eastern RPG games will get a chance to play another game created by Tokyo RPG Factory called Oninaki. The company is known for its critically acclaimed RPG games such as I Am Setsuna and Lost Sphear, so we have huge expectations regarding the new title. Oninaki will be released on August 22nd, 2019.

5. Circuit Superstars

For quite a while, Canadian studio Original Fire Games has been developing their top-down racing game called Apex Racing League. During Square Enix E3 press conference, the studio announced the name change for the game. The game is now known as Circuit Superstars and it should be released in 2020.

In addition to all these news, Square Enix announced a bunch of re-releases and remasters including The Last Remnant for Nintendo Switch, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, and SaGa series for Western markets.
