Internet detectives always manage to find even the slightest clues about possible new games. This time, Naughty Dog popped-up on their radar as the new job listing on their web page suggests that the company is working on a new online experience. Naturally, a million questions come to mind with the major one being – what could it be?
If we were a betting bunch we’d put our money on some sort of separate online mode for The Last of Us Part 2. A bit earlier in the year, Naughty Dog confirmed that the sequel to the popular PlayStation game won’t feature a multiplayer mode since the single-player section is enormous on its own.
Basically, the limits of the PS4 hardware are already far-stretched and that’s why the team had to cut the development of a renewed Factions mode. However, such news wasn’t received well by fans, so Naughty Dog could be changing its mind in order to please the crowd.
For those new with Last of Us Part 2 development plans, Factions mode was an interesting multiplayer mode designed for the first The Last of Us game. You can check it out in a video below:
Of course, it could be something entirely else. Even something related to the Uncharted series or even a new IP. Yeah, it’s optimistic but entirely possible since we can still remember the statement said by Naughty Dog a few months back – “you will eventually experience the fruits of our team’s online ambition, but not as part of The Last of Us 2.”
Frankly, we’ll just have to wait and see what Naughty Dog has in store for us. We hope to learn more about this secret multiplayer project sometime after the release of The Last of Us Part 2 which is now set for the 29th of May, 2020.
