It’s been a while since we heard some more news about Cyberpunk 2077. The game is due to come out in a few months but there is quite a lot to talk about it until then. With that in mind, CD Projekt Red was going to host a special Cyberpunk 2077-themed Night City Wire livestream on June 11th as a part of the Summer Game Fest. However, due to recent anti-racism protests, the stream was delayed.

The news was announced via Twitter where the developers explained their decision to delay the event until June 25th in detail. Here’s the message:

This delay is not the only case where the gaming industry decided to postpone their events in order to stand united against racism, intolerance, and violence. Just a few days ago Sony decided to postpone their PlayStation 5 reveal event. If the situation in the US escalates even further we believe that many more companies will follow.

And to be honest, we’ve never been happier about the delays! There will be plenty of time to talk about Cyberpunk 2077. The game should be released on September 17th for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia. It will likely be re-released for PS5 and Xbox Series X a bit later.
