Apparently, Google Stadia has a worthy opponent. Yesterday, Amazon unveiled their own game streaming service called Luna which will work similarly to Google Stadia. It will let you play games on various different devices without a need for downloading or installing them – all you need is a stable internet connection and an active membership which is currently priced around 5.99$ per month, meaning that’s cheaper than Stadia’s offering.
According to an announcement, for this subscription fee, you will be able to get 1080p/60FPS game streaming on up to two devices at the same time. In addition, Luna will serve different “gaming channels” you can subscribe to and get access to all of their games. The first one is dedicated to Ubisoft.
The press release states:
“Players who subscribe to this channel will have access to their favorite Ubisoft titles in up to 4K resolution, mobile gameplay, and access to new titles when the channel launches like Assassins Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, and Immortals Fenyx Rising the same day they release. This is the first of multiple Luna game channels in development, where customers can play games from their favorite publishers and genres.”
It’s an interesting idea that will enable users to customize their subscription and pay based on the content they’re using.
Speaking of content, Amazon also released a list of games that will be available to play via Luna on launch.

Lastly, we should mention Amazon’s hardware. While it won’t be mandatory and you will be able to play all of the games on Luna with your old controllers or keyboard and mouse, Amazon also introduced their own Luna controller. According to Amazon, Luna controller reduces input latency by 17 to 30 milliseconds among PC, Fire TV, and Mac because it also connects directly to the cloud.
