On Thursday Microsoft hosted its Xbox Games Showcase featuring a bunch of new titles coming to Xbox Series X and PC. There were a ton of new games and 11 world premiers that should attract players to consider buying Xbox Series X. According to Microsoft, Xbox Series X should have over 100 titles available to play at launch, which is huge compared to the last generation. If you have an hour to spare, be sure to check the full show (video below). As for the rest of you, allow us to help you save some time and run down through the most important announcements.

Halo: Infinite

The show started with probably the biggest Xbox game – Halo Infinite. The announcement kicked off with a cute CG trailer and jumped right into action featuring our very first look into Halo: Infinite gameplay. We have to be honest here, after years of teasing we were expecting… how should we put this – something grander. Instead we got familiar Halo gameplay with some new toys and fresh 4K graphics. Take a look:

In any case, if you’re a long-time Halo fan, Halo: Infinite seems like a game you need in your life. It will be out this holiday season on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.

State of Decay 3

We can’t say much about State of Decay 3 since everything we were shown was a beautiful CG trailer featuring a very detailed zombie-deer. We know that the game will come to Xbox Series X and PC but we don’t have any release window. In any case, it’s nice to know that the new game in the series is on the way.

Forza Motorsport

This game needs no introduction. Over the years Forza brand became one of the most recognizable racing game series all over the world and its latest title Forza Motorsport promises to bring the most detailed and most realistic driving game yet. According to Xbox’s Phil Spencer, the video below was captured in-engine and shows the true capabilities of Xbox Series X console. The game itself currently has no release date but all games shown in the presentation will be released for Xbox Series X console and PC.

Everwild

Everwild was first shown last year and since then we haven’t heard a beep from its developers over at Rare. However, during the Xbox Games Showcase we got a new trailer for the game we still know very little about. One thing is for certain – the game’s animation and the art style is top-notch. The developers are saying that Everwild will serve us a magical and untamed world for us to lose ourselves in.

Avowed

Obsidian Entertainment is known for their great RPG games, so if you’re a fan of the genre you’ll be pleased to know that we’re getting a new one called Avowed. While we only got a glimpse of what we can expect, it’s already on our gaming list since most players who watched the presentation got some really strong Skyrim vibes. And it’s not hard to see why… An expansive first-person RPG set in a fantasy world is enough to get us excited. Check it out!

As Dusk Falls

INTERIOR/NIGHT, the latest studio to join Xbox Game Studios, debuted their first game called As Dusk Falls. It’s an original interactive drama that explores the entangled lives of two families across thirty years of history. Starting with a robbery-gone-wrong in small-town Arizona, the choices a player makes in a game will have a powerful impact on the game’s story of sacrifice, betrayal, and resilience. At least according to its developers. The game will be released on Xbox Series X as well as PC.

Xbox Series X console launch exclusives

So, you thought that everything we’ve seen on the Xbox Game Showcase will also be released on PC at the same time and you don’t need a console to enjoy these games? Well, think again… During the show there was a special portion dedicated to console launch exclusives, meaning that these games will first be released on Xbox Series X and only sometime later land on PC. Here’s a quick rundown:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2

Warhammer 40K: Darktide

Tetris Effect: Connected

The Gunk

The Medium

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis

CrossfireX

Fable

And finally, a big and welcome surprise. We’re getting a new Fable!
