It’s that time of the year again! With one of the spookiest celebrations just around the corner, the gaming world is also preparing for Halloween. This week, Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment shared their plans for the holiday and introduced a new in-game event called Fight or Fright.
As you might expect, the event will bring tons of cosmetic goodies you won’t be able to earn anywhere else. According to the announcement page, during the October 15th – November 5th Fight or Fright will bring these bonuses to the Apex Legends players:
- Exclusive event challenges with free earnable cosmetics, including Two Legendary Weapon Skins
- 24 Event Limited premium cosmetics
- Lifeline Heirloom Set Preview
- Double XP for Top 5 & Wins Weekend
We should also mention that during the days of the event, there will be a new game mode called Shadowfall. This mode will be zombie-themed and will take place in an old Kings Canyon map which will get a special night theme.
Event rules are fairly simple and will be familiar to players who’ve already had the pleasure to play some other games with zombie modes. Upon death, your Legend will be revived as a zombie and you’ll be left with a single melee attack, faster movement and so on.
The game plays like a normal Apex Legends match until 10 players are left alive. At this point, all the still alive players will be joined to a single team and will try to make their way to the evacuation ship. Zombies’ objective is to stop the remaining players from escaping.
