RPG fans will be disappointed… Larian Studios, the developers behind the highly anticipated Baldur’s Gate 3 game announced that their take on Dungeons & Dragons universe will be slightly delayed. In a Tweet, the studio stated that the game will no longer be released in August. However, the new date should be announced very soon – on August 18th, during a special “Panel from Hell” stream.
While the creators of the game didn’t specify any reasons behind the delay, it’s fair to guess that the coronavirus pandemic had its hand in this date mix up. In any case, we guess that Baldur’s Gate 3 release shouldn’t be far off… Almost every few weeks or so Larian Studios shares new updates and teases about presenting their development progress to the community.
However, we should point out that you shouldn’t expect a full release during the “Panel from Hell” stream. According to the developers, it will still be released as an Early Access game and will allow fans to play through the first Act of the game. Larian Studios hopes to gather a lot of feedback from avid Dungeons & Dragons fans before tackling other story elements. Did you know that Baldur’s Gate 3 is being created as an accurate Dungeons & Dragons representation? If you’re a fan of D&D, you already know what you can expect from the game.
For now, fans across the globe will have to wait. It’s not ideal, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Baldur’s Gate 3 intends to be huge and we wouldn’t want this game to fail. Larian Studios is known for its good work making other popular RPG titles such as Divinity: Original Sin and Divinity Original Sin 2. We suggest checking these games out while you wait for some news about Baldur’s Gate 3.
