Some of you might remember THQ Nordic’s open-world game Biomutant which was a long time coming to say the least. Originally the game was due to release in 2018 but the developers from Experiment 101 decided to delay it indefinitely. Now, Biomutant’s Twitter account gave fans what they’ve been asking for – a new release date for the title. Biomutant arrives on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on May 25th.
You might be wondering why so many people are excited about this weird “open-world, post-apocalyptic kung fu fable”, and the answer is fairly simple. All game’s graphics and the developer promises aside, we should point out that Experiment 101 was established by former Avalanche Studios employees (Just Cause series, Mad Max, Rage, and many other well-known titles). This allows us to expect great things from Biomutant as well. Having in mind the fact that the game has been developed for almost 5 years now, we hope to get something worth our while.
As for the game itself, Biomutant has a very interesting idea – players will have to design their own animal-like character with different features in order to get some weird attributes and survive the apocalypse. We know it sounds weird, so here’s the trailer if you need a proper visual explanation:
Another thing worthy of mention is that the developers only have plans to release PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. According to Experiment 101, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X players won’t get separate game versions but should be able to check Biomutant through backward compatibility.
