Call of Duty: Mobile was a huge success since its launch last year. In fact, the game managed to surpass its competitors with style, boasting huge numbers upon its release. Now, as the game lost its ‘new title’ charm, it’s interesting to see how many players are still playing it, and from what we gather, it’s still huge. Apparently, in just over a year, Call of Duty: Mobile surpassed 300 million downloads!
This news was announced by the game’s general manager Matt Lewis who shared this news and thanked the community via a special video.
In it, Matt Lewis said that the development team is super proud of this achievement.
“The satisfaction we get from delivering something so accessible and so consistently fresh, it’s hard to overstate. It’s really rare in life to be able to positively impact people and doing this every day for millions is undoubtedly what we are most proud of.”
If by some chance you missed it, Call of Duty: Mobile was released on October 1st in 2019 and since then released continuous updates for the game, combining game modes, maps, soldiers, and weapons from across the Call of Duty franchise. Recently, Call of Duty: Mobile got its season 11 update called The Anniversary that brought a new game mode, an entirely new battle royale map, and numerous other additions.
And that’s just a start. In a video, Matt Lewis also teased some ‘big updates’ coming to the game in the future. From what we gather, the team behind the game has a lot of stuff in the pipeline so it will be interesting to see what the second year of Call of Duty: Mobile will bring to the ever-growing community of players.
If you’ve never tried it, be sure to check your app store. The game is free-to-play and we really recommend it for all the Call of Duty fans and franchise newcomers.
