In case you were wondering about the next Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update, we have some good news for you. Activision’s Twitter announced that the game will receive two new maps and Hardpoint game mode today. The best part is that the update will be free for everyone who owns the game.
Shoot House will be a classic multiplayer map dedicated for 6v6 battles in close quarters, while Krovnik Farmland will be a much bigger arena designed for Ground War mode enabling a 36v36 all-out warfare scenario. Both maps should land to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare today.
In addition to the maps, Activision is also bringing back a classic Hardpoint game mode to their new game which was also a part of the previous Call of Duty games. In case you are new to Call of Duty games, Hardpoint is an intense objective-based mode where the capture point moves predictably throughout the map. You score points for your team while standing in a designated area.
However, unlike Domination or Control, Hardpoint has a way bigger area and an early indication about the next objective. This enables some tactical approach where players have to make strategic decisions about attacking the current objective or moving to the next one and setting up your fortifications there.
As expected, the new content update will also bring plenty of fixes for bugs and other issues that popped up since the release of the game. According to Activision, the update will tweak claymores, fix some sound issues and nerf the most overpowered multiplayer weapon – 725 shotgun.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is currently released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The new update will also be available for all the platforms of the game.
