If you’re a fan of Cuphead, you might be wondering why the developers of the game haven’t spoken a word about the game’s upcoming DLC, called The Delicious Last Course. Initially, it was set to launch this fall, however, Studio MDHR finally broke the silence and delayed the content drop for 2020.
To ease your pain, the team behind the game shared a new trailer which features a few glimpses at the new boss fights with a giant bearded man and some kind of ice-cream monster. Check it out:
In a post on Xbox Wire blog, Chad Moldenhauer, co-director of Studio MDHR, explained the reasoning behind the delay stating that the team wants to live up to a set standard which takes a bit more time than previously expected.
“While we initially announced a 2019 release date for the Delicious Last Course expansion, our highest priority is making sure this new adventure meets the meticulous level of care and quality we always strive for. We want to be absolutely certain that this next adventure feels at home in the world of Cuphead and is full of moments that surprise and delight players. Furthermore, the development of the original game taught us a great deal about the importance of making things in a way that’s healthy and sustainable for our team.”
If all of this is true, we can live with the new launch date. In our humble opinion, Cuphead is one of the most original titles released last year, so we want its new DLC to be as “delicious” as possible. If you’ve never tried the game, we encourage you to do so since we have a great price for the title. Cuphead is out now for Mac, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
