Look, we don’t like this as much as you do, but we’re still hopeful. CD Projekt Red has once again put, probably the most anticipated game in 2020, on hold. Originally the game had to come out in spring, then the date changed to September and now Polish studio is telling us to wait a bit more. The new launch date for Cyberpunk 2077 is November 19th.
As for the reasons regarding the delay, we can guess that CD Projekt Red is planing a bombastic release. Just think about it – around that time we should get the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X to store, meaning that Cyberpunk 2077 will be released for not two but four consoles – PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Add the whole PC community to the mix and you can have one of the biggest game launches in the history of gaming. It would be quite a feat don’t you think?
Of course, official reasons sound a bit different. In a Tweet, CD Projekt Red stated that “A huge world means a huge number of things to iron out and we will spend the additional time doing exactly that”.
The key takeaway is that the game is ready and we’ll get to see more of it in a week. So if you’re planning on picking up a copy for yourself, be sure to check out our price for Cyberpunk 2077 preorder.
It seems like the competition for this year’s best game award might be fierce. The Last of Us Part II is gathering tons of praise, Cyberpunk 2077 might become one of the biggest launches in history, and we shouldn’t forget such great games as Doom Eternal, Ghosts of Tsushima and others… Weirdly enough, 2020 is a great year for gaming.
