The future belongs to free-to-play games. In the past couple of years, we’ve seen many quality releases which captured the minds of gamers across the globe. One such game is Dauntless which is developed by Pheonix Labs. After about a year on the open beta for PC, the game is finally set to launch in its full glory. Mark the date – Dauntless will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 21st.
If you’ve never heard of Dauntless, it’s essentially a free-to-play version of Capcom’s Monster Hunter game series. While the gameplay is very similar to Capcom’s title, Dauntless features a more playful and colorful art style which won’t require you to own expensive hardware just to run properly.
In the game, you’ll have to hunt down various creatures and level up your character. You’ll collect resources in order to craft increasingly more powerful armor, weapons and so on. Dauntless can be played solo but we highly recommend finding some friends to hunt together via multiplayer.
It’s also worth mentioning that Dauntless will be available on Epic Games Store (like any other new release) for PC players. The game will be free and will monetize its players via various cosmetic items. If you’re looking for something to do, make a nifty change to your monsters-to-hunt list while you’re waiting for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne on PC – Dauntless is definitely a great pick for your game collection.
