And here’s the official Tweet from the official DOTA 2 Twitter account:
If an anime based on a game without a story seems a bit weird for you, you’re not alone. However, Netflix also released an official description of DOTA: Dragon’s Blood set-up which reveals a few details about the story.
“The sweeping fantasy series tells the story of Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight devoted to wiping the scourge from the face of the world. Following encounters with a powerful, ancient eldwurm as well as the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion becomes embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined.”
DOTA: Dragon’s Blood is being developed by Studio MIR which is known for its work on many other popular animated series (The Legend of Korra, Voltron: Legendary Defender, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, and others). The new anime is produced by Ashley Miller who earlier worked on films such as X-Men: First Class, Thor, and Black Sails TV series.
So… Who’s excited?
