Recently we’ve shared the news about Valve’s intention to create a new game based on the popular Dota 2 mod called Auto Chess. Today Valve finally unveiled their new game and it’s called Dota Underlords. Furthermore, the game’s beta is now available to everyone who purchased Dota 2 International Battle Pass while open beta test should begin sometime next week.
Valve’s description about the new game reads:
Dota Underlords is a new stand-alone game that pits you against seven opponents in a battle of wits that will have you building, combining, and leveling-up a crew in a battle of dominance for the city of White Spire. In this game, victory is determined not by twitch reflexes, but by superior tactics.
The company notes that the new game is fairly early in development, so the early adopters might still find many unpolished elements. However, Valve promises to roll out constant updates for Dota Underlords with bug fixes and new features all throughout the Beta Season and encourages everyone to take part in testing.
However, Dota Underlords won’t be the only option in town if you’re looking for something similar. Auto Chess mod for Dota 2 is still on, while Riot Games and Epic Games Store are also creating their own takes on the new genre.
Dota Underlords will be released for Windows PC, Mac, and Linux alongside lite versions for Android and iOS.
