Last week, during Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour finals event, the new game was announced. Titled Dragon Ball Project Z the new game looks to be an RPG set in the world of Dragon Ball.
Bandai Namco surprised everyone and released a new trailer which shows the game getting back to its roots. Unlike Dragon Ball Xenoverse which is set in the alternate universe, Project Z will retell a classic story of Dragon Ball Z and will see the return of fan-favourite characters. The trailer features Goku walking around in some familiar places such as West City and Kame House.
While we still don’t have an exact release date, Bandai Namco expects the game release to be this year. According to the developer, Project Z will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. Currently, there’s no information about the Nintendo Switch port.
Additionally to the new game, Bandai Namco has also revealed some changes for the Dragon Ball FighterZ coming in the second season. There will be 4 new characters for players to choose from – Jirren, Gohan’s wife Videl, Broly, and SSGSS Gogeta, who was featured in a recent Dragon Ball Super: Broly film.
Jirren and Videl will join the game’s roster this week, starting January 31st, while Broly and SSGSS Gogeta will be coming sometime later in the year.
