Ubisoft’s Far Cry 6 is one of the most anticipated AAA releases at the moment, and we are more than happy to share some fresh information with you. Last Friday on 28 May, the company hosted a live stream revealing some details about the upcoming iteration in its long-running open-world FPS series. In the meanwhile, check out a fresh peek into the revealed gameplay bit below.
When is Far Cry 6 going to be released?
First things first. Although the game was delayed due to the ongoing pandemic, it seems that finally, we are getting a solid date. The Far Cry 6 release date is set to be 7 October 2021, and it will be released on the respected platforms:
- PC
- PlayStation 4
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox One
- Xbox Series X | S
Set in the biggest open-world so far, this iteration of the Far Cry series returns back to the fan-beloved jungles reminiscent of Far Cry 3 that remains a popular title up to this day. Either way, Far Cry 6 takes us on another daring adventure set in the fictional island of Yara, inspired by Cuban culture and history. Now, as for what happens in the story, let’s leave it an intrigue, shall we…
Who is Chorizo?
The trailer introduces the main character into whose shoes we’ll get to be during the long journey of resistance against El Presidente – a guerrilla named Dani Rojas. Although she seems badass followed by a myriad of explosions, hilarious situations and demanding, brutal encounters with the enemy, this is beside the point. Our eyes are on one of the most adorable pet companions in the history of gaming, and that is Chorizo.
Meet the sausage-dog who carts his way around the action, providing the much needed moral support. Although the pup clearly experienced a severe injury before in his life, it definitely doesn’t stop Chorizo from being the cheerful self he seemed to be in the gameplay reveal. Let’s hope the rest of the game is just as amazing as the trailer and Chorizo make it seem.
