The days of teasing have been culminating and they finally combusted today, as Epic Games announced yet another Fortnite crossover with Avengers franchise. Last year fans of Fornite had a chance to snag an Infinity Gauntlet which transformed the wielder to an all-powerful Thanos. However, this time Fortnite players will be split into two teams in an epic Endgame battle.
The event starts with players being divided into Team Thanos and Team Heroes. Team Thanos will be made up of Thanos and his Chitauri Invaders which will be tasked to collect six Infinity Stones, scattered across the map, and then they’ll have to defeat the opposing team. Team Heroes must simply survive and defeat Team Thanos. However, there’s the catch, until all of the Infinity Stones are found Team Heroes will be able to respawn.
The first Team Thanos member who picks up Infinity Stone gets to be Thanos. Each new Infinity Stone found gives a huge buff to Thanos and a slight health increase for his team:
– Reality Stone (Red) = Heath & Shields doubled (1000->2000)
– Soul Stone (Orange) = Siphon activated (grants Thanos shields only)
– Mind Stone (Yellow) = Jump height doubled
– Space Stone (Blue) = Ground Pound AOE size tripled, damage x6
– Time Stone (Green) = Big knockback added to each hit, damage x3
– Power Stone (Purple) = Laser damage x6
If by some chance the Thanos player is eliminated by the opposing team, another Chitauri will take his role with all the previously obtained buffs already unlocked.
And don’t assume that Team Heroes will serve as a herd of sheep simply waiting for their slaughter. Each member of the team will be able to pick up Mythic-grade Avenger items such as Captain’s Shield or Hawkeye’s Bow. The first one will be easy to find as the team will get a treasure map to the location of it. Other Avengers gear will be found in Chests throughout the map.
