If you’re an avid Fortnite player you might be wondering how this COVID-19 pandemic will change things for your favorite game. Many big studios are announcing delays and Epic Games is no exception. In a special blog post, the developers of Fortnite announced that Season 3 is being pushed back and will launch on June 4th. Prior to this date pushback, the initially planned date was April 30th.

While Epic Games didn’t give an official explanation about the delay, we can imagine that the state of our world these days has certainly made an impact. And it’s in everyone’s best interest that developers won’t risk their health and allow players to enjoy spy-themed content for one more additional month.

However, it’s worth mentioning that this is not the first delay for a new season to kick off. The first season of Fortnite’s Chapter 2 lasted months longer than it was originally planned and now, the second season has the same fate. Some may argue that Fortnite’s Chapter 2 might be cursed. But it cannot be, can it?

In any case, Epic Games wrote that the developers have multiple new updates planned for the future.

“We have multiple game updates on the way that will deliver fresh gameplay, new Challenges, bonus XP, and a couple more surprises up our sleeve!”

So let’s count on that and stay patient and healthy. The sooner we’re all out of this mess, the faster our world returns to normal. Fortnite included.
