If you spent 2019s under a rock, you should know that Google is making a huge leap of faith into gaming with their new game streaming service called Google Stadia. You can learn more about it in our previous article here. Now, as the initial release of Google Stadia is near, the company has announced its line-up of games which will be released alongside the platform on November 19th.
According to Google, Stadia will launch with 12 games on day one with a lot more to come in the near future. Here’s a full list:
- Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
- Destiny 2
- GYLT (Google Stadia exclusive)
- Just Dance 2020
- Kine
- Mortal Kombat 11
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Rise of the Tomb Raider
- Samurai Shodown
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
- Thumper
- Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
There are a lot of heavy hitters in this list, but the platform’s initial success might depend on exclusives. There’s only one game which wasn’t released on other platforms before and it’s GYLT, a haunting single-player puzzle adventure game. Here’s the trailer if you’re interested:
However, Google knows that 12 games are not enough to keep player interest for long, so the company also detailed 14 more games that will come to Google Stadia by the end of the year. One notable thing, there are no other exclusive games in sight.
- Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle
- Borderlands 3
- Darksiders Genesis
- Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
- Farming Simulator 19
- Final Fantasy 15
- Football Manager 2020
- Ghost Recon Breakpoint
- Grid
- Metro Exodus
- NBA 2K20
- Rage 2
- Trials Rising
- Wolfenstein: Youngblood
For now, it’s a bit hard to predict how Google Stadia will do since it will only launch in 14 countries for now. We’ll just have to wait and see the initial reception. If the launch is successful, we might get even more games available in more countries in the future.
