Codemasters has been hard at work trying to revive the legendary racing game GRID. Originally, GIRD reboot was set to release on September 13th, but the developers decided to delay the game for a very weird reason – to give the title “added exposure”.
The new launch date for the GRID reboot is set for October 11th, 2019 which is only a month later than the previous date. However, it’s worth mentioning that players who decide to purchase The Ultimate Edition will get in the game 3 days earlier, on October 8th.
Having in mind that the game is still some time away, and marketing for it is very bleak for the time being, it’s hard to predict what Codemasters have in mind, and in-store, by saying “added exposure”.
Maybe, the developers expected that all the fans will hop on board just after seeing GRID in the title. However, that wasn’t the case since the game’s YouTube channel is struggling to find views on their latest videos. For example, this one hasn’t even crossed a 10k views mark:
We might expect a more active campaign for the GRID reboot in the upcoming months. The game will be released for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will also be a launch title when Google Stadia goes live this fall.
