Sony has confirmed the release dates of their new PlayStation Plus service
As everyone who games on PlayStation knows, Sony is trying to tackle Xbox’s Game Pass with their own improved subscription service by combining PS Plus and PS Now into one package. The service will have three tiers offering different prices and benefits:
- PS Plus Essential – nothing really changes from the current PS Plus
- PS Plus Extra – will include basic PS Plus and nearly 400 games for PS4 and PS5
- PS Plus Premium – will include basic PS Plus and nearly 700 games from PS1 to PS5
When the new subscription launches, PS Now will no longer be sold as a stand-alone service. Instead, gamers who have subscribed to PS Now will be automatically updated to PS Plus Premium. PS Plus subscribers will be able to upgrade to a higher PS Plus tier of their choice by covering the price difference.
Sony has finally revealed when the new subscription services land all over the world:
- Asia markets (excluding Japan) – May 23, 2022
- Japan – June 1, 2022
- Americas – June 13, 2022
- Europe – June 22, 2022

Dying Light 2 sold 5 million copies in the first month
Techland, the developers of the Dying Light games has reported that Dying Light 2: Stay Human has sold over 5 million copies during the first month of the game’s launch. They’ve also added that the first game’s sales increased and crossed 20 million units since its release in 2016.

Arto announced for PC
Arto, a new unique open-world action RPG has been announced for PC. Developed by OrionGames Arto will offer players a world devoid of color with branching paths, challenging bosses to fight, and multiple endings. To those who love a different kind of gaming experience in the visual sense, Arto is worth keeping an eye out for.
Borderlands 3 cross-play is finally available on all platforms
During PAX East, Gearbox has announced that Borderlands 3 will finally be getting a full cross-play on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. According to Gearbox, Borderlands 3 had the cross-play option from the very beginning but Sony pushed back against it. But the push is finally over and starting this spring, up to four players will be able to play Borderlands 3 together across all major platforms.

Splatoon 3 will release in September on Nintendo Switch
The wait is almost over. Fans of the Splatoon series will be able to play the third installment of the fan-favorite third-person shooter on September 9, 2022.
Splatoon 2 has won numerous awards and is considered one of the best PvP games on Nintendo’s console. The third game will offer a familiar 4v4 Turf War mode, together with the new co-op Salmon Run Next Wave mode, and a new single-player campaign.
God of War Ragnarok will arrive in 2022
Santa Monica Studios has reassured fans that God of War Ragnarok will arrive by the end of 2022. Though the developers have been silent about the game for quite some time now, they recently broke the silence by saying they were busy working on the game and fans can expect to see new features and gameplay footage very soon.
After the near-masterpiece that God of War was, expectations for its sequel are exceptionally high. However, Santa Monica has been on top of its game since the PS2 days and they are sure likely to deliver an amazing experience.
Amy Hennig is again working on a new Star Wars game
The legendary game designer known for her work on Jak and Daxter and the Uncharted series has announced that she and her new studio Skydane New Media is partnering up with Lucasfilm Games and are working on a new, narrative-driven single-player action-adventure game set in the galaxy far far away.
Hennig has already been working on a Star Wars game at Visceral studios (known for the Dead Space series) but the project was canceled and the studio was shut down by EA. Luckily, that wasn’t the end for Hennig and Star Wars. If we know one thing about Hennig, she’s going to deliver a fantastic experience. This just might be a match made in heaven.
Jason Momoa will star in the Minecraft movie?
With the release of Detective Pikachu, Sonic, Mortal Kombat, and Uncharted, it seems video game movies are becoming a thing. Though we’ve heard about plans to make a Minecraft movie for quite a while now, the project seemed to stall as no news was coming out about its progress. Until now.
Jason Momoa, known for his roles in Game of Thrones, Aquaman, and Dune is in talks to star in the upcoming Minecraft movie at Warner Brothers. The film will be helmed by Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre filmmaker Jared Hess. Knowing how popular Minecraft is, it’s no surprise there’s a movie in the works. But how will it look and what will it focus on? That’s what is most intriguing. And with Jason Momoa in the lead… Well, we’ll just have to wait and see.
