Riot Games is doing some huge leaps in a few recent weeks. League of Legends renewed its esports seasons in NA and Europe, Valorant was shown to the world in detail. And now, by the end of April, Riot Games Pledged to finally release the long-awaited card game Legends of Runeterra. The game should be available to all PC and mobile players.
One might ask what of it since the game has already been in open beta for PC for quite some time now and everyone who wants to play it can do so… Well, Riot Games have done a lot of work in the background and the transition from open beta to the full version should be felt by everyone. While there won’t be a progression reset, the launch of the game will add over 120 new cards, new regions and will feature PC and mobile cross-play.
The mobile release is the key thing here and might make a difference for the future of the game. While the overall feedback from the Legends of Runeterra beta test was positive, the major concern from the players was… well, lack of players. Making the game available to the much bigger audience might solve this problem and raise the game profile high enough so it could start competing with Blizzard’s Hearthstone.
We’ll see soon enough. The full launch of Legends of Runeterra is scheduled for April 30th.
