After years of being silent, official Mafia’s Twitter account woke up and tweeted something that could be interpreted as a tease for something new. Maybe a new Mafia game? See for yourself:
Yeah… This tweet is cryptic as hell but we can safely assume that developers of the game have some future plans for the franchise. Why else would you bother to Tweet something into account which was silent since August 2018?
The most likely scenario is that the new Mafia game is already in development and is ready for a showing sometime in the near future. Having in mind the fact that the next-generation console wars are about to commence, we might be getting Mafia 4 for Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5.
Another likely scenario is a series reboot – these are super popular lately. Some internet rumors recently stated that Take-Two Interactive registered three new trademarks. While we don’t know what those are, from now on we can safely assume that one of them is Mafia-related.
The most recent game in the series, Mafia 3, was released in 2016, just 4 years ago, and was praised for its technical achievements. If you’d ask us, we’d say that Mafia 3 remake is unlikely, but we’d love to see the remake of the original Mafia games… We’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds.
