PlayStation is wrapping up this console generation by breaking one record after another… Just recently, Fall Guys became the most downloaded PS Plus game of all time, and this week another game claimed the title as the most popular beta ever. And to no one’s surprise, that game is Marvel’s Avengers.
According to a Tweet by Square Enix, Marvel’s Avengers Beta was globally the most-downloaded beta in PlayStation history.
However, this tweet doesn’t have any player numbers so this might be an empty brag. Last week Square Enix stated that the game has seen over 6 million testers joining in but this wasn’t PlayStation 4 players only.
It’s also worth mentioning that Marvel’s Avengers beta test was also one of the longest-running beta tests ever. The game began its closed beta testing for players who pre-ordered the game on PlayStation 4 from August 7th to August 9th. This was followed up by another influx of players who got access to an open PlayStation 4 beta that ran from August 14th until August 16th, and finally all-platform open beta from August 21st to August 23rd. Basically, more than two weeks of testing concluded with a record.
In any case, there’s no denying that Marvel’s Avengers game is highly anticipated by the fans. It’s a super popular franchise, and from what we’ve seen so far, it promises to be a great game too with the potential to be even better and bigger in the future.
