What made Marvel’s Spider-Man great?
The biggest concern on every Spidey fan’s mind was: can Insomniac nail the web-swinging mechanic? And oh man, they did! It wasn’t intricate or complicated, but it was and still is perfect. Swinging through Manhattan has never felt this good since Spider-Man 2 on the PS2. Insomniac nailed the animations, sense of speed, dives, jumps, and wall runs, and though we know we sound cliché saying this – you actually feel like Spider-Man.
But it’s not only traversal. Though the game’s combat is similar to the Batman Arkham games, it suits Spider-Man’s agility quite perfectly. Paired up with gadgets, skill moves, upgrades, and suit powers, clearing a room full of criminals never gets boring.
The story
Many superhero films and games fail to deliver two crucial story elements: the compelling multi-dimensional villain and the balance of the person behind the mask and their superhero alter ego. Spider-Man delivers on all accounts and tells one of the best Spider-Man stories that rival even the MCU. Peter Parker’s plotline is as important as Spider-Man’s. The PC version will also expand Spidey’s adventure with a 3-part “The City That Never Sleeps” DLC without any additional cost.
PC Upgrades
PC gamers will be getting the remastered PS5 version of the game. It will support a 4K resolution, a 60 FPS frame rate, and an ultra-wide display. On top of that, the game will have improved shadows and ray-traced reflections. It will also include Nvidia’s DLSS support to boost frame rates. In addition to keyboard and mouse support, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered PC version supports a DualSense controller for those who want to indulge in the full console experience.
