Everything has an end. Video games are no exception. Slowly but steadily Sony has been cutting support for its previous generation console but some popular online titles such as Uncharted or Last of Us were still hanging on. But the end is coming as Sony announced it will be shutting down games’ servers on September 3rd.

The shutdown will affect Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3, The Last of Us, and The Last of Us: Left Behind for PlayStation 3. While these titles are regarded as single player games, multiplayer components are still compelling. However, majority of the player base migrated to PlayStation 4, so keeping old servers with PlayStation 5 on the horizon doesn’t seem logical.

In all fairness, Naughty Dog is giving players a proper heads-up before the shutdown. So, if you enjoyed playing these games online on your old console, you still have three months to give them one last try.
