Need For Speed Heat was released last November for PC and consoles. However, the developers of the game missed a crucial part while developing the game – Need For Speed Heat didn’t feature cross-play functionality. Now, as we about to enter the next generation of consoles, Criterion Games decided to release one final update to the game, introducing the thing they missed at the start.
Starting tomorrow, June 9th, all versions of Need For Speed heat will receive a new massive update which will allow players to play with their friends who own the game on other platforms. This will make Need for Speed Heat the first EA game that allows PS4, Xbox One, and PC fans to play together…
The post also includes information that next week Need For Speed Heat will become a part of EA Access and Origin Access Basic Vault. Here’s a quote from the official post:
“As more players join the global Need for Speed community, we also want to provide more options in how the series can be discovered. On June 16, Need for Speed Heat drops into the EA Access and Origin Access Basic Vault*, giving all subscribers the opportunity to enter Palm City.
Another step to connect our players and games on more platforms is the recent release of Need for Speed Heat on Steam, alongside 2016’s Need for Speed and Need for Speed Rivals. Keep an eye out at EA PLAY Live on June 18 for more Need for Speed and Steam announcements. Cross-play will work across PC via Origin and Steam, PS4, Xbox One, and subscribers.”
