We’ve already written about Death Stranding being weird and confusing. Well, it’s not getting any clearer with the new game trailer which was released just yesterday. Though, at least one thing is certain – the game will come out on November 8th.
You’d think that 8-minute long trailer would make things clearer on what the game is about, but remember – it’s Kojima Productions. The trailer features a wide variety of gameplay, new characters, new bits of the story, and babies… However, when you put all elements into a single video, slap on “The Path” by Apocalyptica as its soundtrack, people will get excited. The trailer already surpassed 3 million views in just a few hours, but the comment section indicates that the majority of people are as confused as you are.
Confusion might be cleared up by a statement released by Hideo Kojima, explaining the theme of Death Stranding.
People have created “Walls” and become accustomed to living in isolation.
“Death Stranding” is a completely new type of action game, where the goal of the player is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. It is created so that all elements, including the story and gameplay, are bound together by the theme of the “Strand” or connection. As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or “Strands” with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you’ll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others.
Another reason to get excited about Death Stranding is the names on the cast list. The game stars Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Lindsay Wagner, Troy Baker, and Guillermo del Toro, just to name a few.
