Like every month, Nintendo Switch is following the footsteps of its siblings introducing a new set of games for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. June’s offerings include three more classic NES titles such as Double Dragon II: The Revenge, Volleyball, and City Connection.
Double Dragon II: The Revenge
This game was originally released for arcades in 1988 and was only ported to NES after two years, in 1990. Later, it was also released for Sega Mega Drive and PC. The game is a side-scrolling beat ’em up which can be played solo or with a friend.
Volleyball
Nintendo Entertainment System games about sports were very popular back in a day. Volleyball was created in 1986 and even then was battered by critics for its weird controls. However, later versions of the game fixed the issues, so it’s a perfect game to restart your memory and tickle that nostalgia feeling. The best part – you can play it with a friend!
City Connection
City Connection is the oldest game in June’s list. It was released back in 1985 and became a huge deal in Japan where it made to the list of best family games for its visuals, gameplay and music. City Connection is a platform arcade game where the player drives a car with a goal to paint every section of the road, while also avoiding the roaming police cars.
These three games will join the ever-growing list of free NES Classics for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers on June 12th. Previously announced games can be downloaded to your Nintendo Switch console as well, as long as you maintain your Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
