No Man’s Sky keeps on getting better. Yesterday, Hello Games has announced a new update for the popular space exploration game which introduces a new tool enabling players to create music and audio for their game. It’s going to be a fun feature for sure…
According to a new video posted on Hello Games YouTube channel, with 2.24 game update, No Man’s Sky is getting something called ByteBeat. Essentially, it’s a device that can be built in-game with resources gathered during your space exploration. ByteBeat will procedurally generate various sounds created from simple waveforms and algorithms, so anyone will be able to feel like a real Mozart. However, for all of you thinkers out there, there will be plenty of options to customize this sound and create your very own space music and share it with other players.
Here’s ByteBeat in action:
It’s worth mentioning that ByteBeat will require some special resources to be built. In order to make a device, you’ll need to learn the module’s blueprint which can be obtained from the Space Anomaly. If you’re lucky – or rich enough – you’ll be able to build multiple ByteBeats and sync them up to create more complex tracks or host your very own space dance party with lights and everything…
In addition to this new device, No Man’s Sky’s 2.24 update also brings some new minor elements to the game. For example, The Space Anomaly teleporter now has a Featured section which will enable developers to feature the best player creations or constructions. The update also brings new limited-time missions which will rotate on a weekly basis and enable players to earn some additional in-game currency for their crafts.
2.24 game update is free and will launch on all game platforms – PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. If you’re interested in learning more or want to read through the patch notes, be sure to check out this blog post.
