While most Steam players are currently enjoying their new Viking survival game Valheim, looter-shooter fans have something new to play too. As previously promised, developers from People Can Fly studio released the demo of their upcoming Outriders game. And it’s a huge success! Even prior to the official game release Outriders pre-orders secured the game a spot on Steam’s Top Sellers chart.
According to the Steam Database, Outriders hit an all-time peak over this weekend with more than 55,000 people playing the demo. While the average player numbers are slightly lower, the game’s community is still growing. In addition to these great demo numbers, there’s also a bunch of people who decided to pre-order the game. While the Outriders release is scheduled for April 1st, the game currently sits at 6th place among Steam Top Sellers.
We have to be honest that we weren’t expecting this. A few months ago, People Can Fly announced the delay of Outriders. Back then the studio said that the game still needed some work. However, the developers promised a free demo version to help boost the visibility of the game. And what do you know – it worked like charm!
Never heard about Outriders before? You should know that it’s an interesting looter-shooter type of game that will remind you about games like Destiny or Borderlands. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi world and features plenty of game modes for solo players or teams of up to 3 players.
