So it begins… The all-new Call of Duty game is upon us today, marking the beginning of Black Ops Cold War’s beta test. PlayStation 4 players will be first in line – PS4 Early Access test begins today and will run until tomorrow, followed up by PS4 open beta that will kick off on Saturday. Xbox and PC Early Access test will begin on October 15th, while open access scheduled to begin two days later, on October 17th. The beta will conclude on all platforms on October 19th.
Most PC players were wondering if their current hardware will be able to run the new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, so Activision decided to give a heads-up for those who are not sure.
Here’s what specifications you need in order to be able to participate in Cold War’s beta test on PC:
Minimum PC requirements:
- OS: Windows 7 64-bit (SP1) or Windows 10 64-bit (1803 or later)
- CPU: Intel Core i5-2500k or AMD equivalent
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 with 2GB VRAM / GTX 1650 with 4GB VRAM / AMD Radeon HD 7950
- Memory: 8GB RAM
- Storage: 45GB
- Network: Broadband internet connection
- Sound card: DirectX compatible, requires DirectX 12 compatible system
Recommended PC requirements:
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit (latest service pack)
- CPU: Intel Core i7-4770k or AMD equivalent
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 with 4GB VRAM / GTX 1660 Super with 6GB VRAM / AMD Radeon R9 390 / AMD RX 580
- Memory: 16GB RAM
- Storage: 45GB
- Network: Broadband internet connection
- Sound card: DirectX compatible, requires DirectX 12 compatible system
If your system hardware meets the requirements, we suggest you give it a try. Activision said that everyone who manages to reach level 10 during the beta will be rewarded with a blueprint for the Mutual Animosity SMG in the full game. That is if you decide to pick it up, of course.
