Last year Ubisoft announced their plans to release Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. The game was supposed to be released this January, however, it was delayed for a couple of months until March. Now, Ubisoft decided that the team won’t be able to deliver the game by that time and pushed it back once again. This time, however, we don’t have an approximate release date.
The news was announced on Twitter where the publisher said that the decision to delay the game was made in regards to player feedback. The studio stated that developers wish to have more time to live up to fans’ expectations and release the remake ‘that feels fresh while remaining faithful to the original.’
‘Player feedback’ might refer to a lot of negative comments about the project after the reveal trailer. Ubisoft promised that the game will feature updated graphics and plenty of quality of life improvements, however, fans seemingly expected more from a graphics standpoint.
Further visual polish might be the real reason why we didn’t get a new release date. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a big game and predicting how much time it might take to make all of the game’s assets more appealing to the eyes is hard. In any case, we are sure to learn more about the state of the game in the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event which should happen sometime this summer.
