While PUBG didn’t have a game-breaking event to close its latest season, it’s also gearing up for the new chapter. Just recently, PUBG Corp. revealed a lot of details about the upcoming PUBG Season 5, which should land on PC on October 23rd. The console release is scheduled one week later, on October 29th. Update 5.1 is now currently live on a testing server, so players are able to check some of the new things out and share their feedback with the developers.
One of the biggest and most important changes coming to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is the revamp of the Miramar map. According to the development team, the new map will get a lot of new additions across the area. The list of added details includes a brand new racetrack, as well as ramps, jumps, loops, and signboards. The new Miramar will be a lot cleaner. According to PUBG Corp, the team removed a lot of random objects around the buildings of the map.
We should also talk about the new feature coming to the game with 5.1. PUBG Corp. is taking a page from Fortnite’s playbook and introduces vending machines that spawn randomly around the map. However, these vending machines won’t be spawning in the wild or anything like that. Players will be able to find them in commercial buildings such as gas stations, motels or the casino. Vending machines will distribute some much-needed healing items, painkillers and energy drinks.
PUBG Season 5 also brings some new mechanics to refresh some things. One particularly interesting addition is the ability to throw items to your teammates. You will be able to share your melee weapons and throw some medicine or ammo from a mild distance.
As always, the new season brings another Survivor Pass. Season 5 Survivor Pass is called Badlands and, as always, features tons of rewards for completing specific in-game challenges. In addition, even if you don’t own the new Survivor Pass, you’ll be able to contribute to a new Community mission which, after its completion, will reward every contributing player with some skins and lore bits.
