Rumors were true! Resident Evil 3 Remake will get a playable demo prior to its release, so you will be able to see and decide for yourself if you wish to spend your money on this new remake. The news was announced via Twitter, where the developers posted that “it was written in the STARS”:
Capcom obviously took a page from Resident Evil 2 Remake’s playbook. Resident Evil 2 Remake was released in a similar fashion, giving players a chance to try the game before they commit for a purchase. Back then, the demo was released just two weeks before the game, so we can hope that it will follow a similar path, meaning that our first chance to meet Nemesis might not be far off.
However, we’re still not sure about the details. Resident Evil 2 Remake‘s demo came with a time limit, allowing players to play for 30 minutes before asking them to buy the full game. You also couldn’t repeat your experience if you’ve already had it once.
Resident Evil 3 might be different, though… The remake features a lot of additional features that could help to hook the players in – mainly, an asymmetrical multiplayer mode called Resident Evil: Resistance. We wrote about all of this in detail on our previous blog post. These new features might attract a huge variety of players who – previously – were not interested in the Resident Evil franchise.
Frankly, we’ll just have to wait and see. The game is set to be released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 3rd. You can preorder the game from our store right now.
