Clear communication is important nowadays. Especially when you’re competing in an industry such as gaming. Apparently, Sony failed to get their message across during the official PlayStation 5 games’ reveal stream. According to an article in the Game Informer magazine, one of the biggest launch titles for PlayStation 5 – Spider-Man: Miles Morales won’t be just a simple sequel. It will also include a remastered version of Insomniac’s Spider-Man originally released for PlayStation 4.
Arguably, Spider-Man was one of the best PlayStation 4 games and that’s a big bit of information that Sony left out during the presentation. According to Game Informer, Spider-Man: Miles Morales “comes bundled with a remastered version of Insomniac’s Spider-Man that takes full advantage of the PS5 hardware.” What now?!
Previously, Sony stated that players will get to experience a full story arc with Miles and Insomniac clarified that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be a standalone game similar to what we got with Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. However, that particular example was only 10-hours long and as a launch title, it might be too short for some players. Remastered original Spider-Man would surely improve the overall value of the game, but for now, we don’t have any confirmation from an official source.
However, this doesn’t seem far fetched if we keep in mind the fact that Sony announced PlayStation 5’s hardware capabilities using Spider-Man’s example as their tech demo. A month back, Insomniac also provided a short statement saying that Miles Morales won’t be just a simple sequel or a DLC, but added that they “still have much of Peter’s story left to tell”. Make your own assumptions about this case, but we believe that Sony messed up their communication with this title big time…
