While many fans of the old Splinter Cell franchise hoped to hear some news about the new game during the Ubisoft Forward stream, we got nothing. However, it seems like the company hasn’t forgotten its successful series and decided to do something different with it. Apparently, Splinter Cell is being adapted for Netflix as an animated series.

The news about this awesome project was announced by Variety and later confirmed by Ubisoft. According to an article, Ubisoft signed a deal for two seasons of animated Sam Fisher adventures. Each season will have 8 episodes – 16 in total.

As for the team creating the show, seems like we’re getting some star power. The script for Splinter Cell anime will be written by Derek Kolstad known for his work on the John Wick series. He also worked on some recent projects such as Falcon and Winter Soldier, Nobody which are yet to be released.

For now, we don’t have much else to tell about the project. However, it’s worth mentioning that Netflix anime is not the only visual medium Sam Fisher will be featured in. A few years back Ubisoft talked about a Splinter Cell movie, but we haven’t heard anything about it since 2017.

In any case, it’s nice to know that former U.S. Navy SEAL Sam Fisher is not forgotten. Who knows, maybe the production of this Netflix series is going hand-in-hand with the new, yet unannounced game. There were a few rumors about it but nothing worth sharing at this moment. Anyway, it’s a nice occasion to refresh your memory and play some old Splinter Cell titles. We have plenty of good deals!
