The new Star Wars movie premiere is quickly approaching so it shouldn’t be surprising that most games are capitalizing on the occasion and introduces their in-game events to mark the Rise of Skywalker. This week, Fortnite has kicked off a special event and now it’s EA’s turn to bring some joy into their Star Wars Battlefront 2.
The Rise of Skywalker will be a free update which will kick things off today, December 17th. The update adds a new jungle planet as a location for you to fight in. The new map can be played in co-op and Heroes vs Villains modes. Additionally, the update also brings some new reinforcement units – you will be able to hire Sith Infiltrators, First Order Jet Troopers, Ovissian Gunners, or Caphex Spies – all of these will play a role in the upcoming movie.
Furthermore, The Rise of Skywalker will introduce some new alternate appearances for Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren. These new robes will be based on their Rise of Skywalker movie appearances.
We should also add that The Rise of Skywalker update for Star Wars Battlefront 2 will come with a new Celebration Edition which will allow players “to live out your epic Star Wars battle fantasies. Enjoy over two years’ worth of free content updates and get more than 350 customization items at that!”.
Lastly, there’s some news about the future of the game. EA has mentioned that even after the new Star Wars trilogy has concluded, fans of the game can expect some updates next year. In January Resistance and First Order will get new heroes – BB-8 and BB-9E alongside some new combat ships. Furthermore, the developers have confirmed that there is even more content in the pipeline which will be announced in February and March.
So, yeah… Star Wars Battlefront 2 is not yet done and only keeps getting better. And if that’s not enough of a reason to jump into action, our price for the game might change your mind.
