If you’ve been a fan of Super Mario Maker 2, we have got some good news to deliver! This week, the challenging title is getting a 2.0.0 update, and it’s bringing a ton of exciting features, opponents, trials, and best of all… the Master Sword – along with you being able to transform into Link!
That’s right, the newest update to Super Mario Maker 2 will allow you to assume control of Link, the legendary protagonist in the Legend of Zelda franchise! And not only will you get to enjoy the cosmetic part of the whole thing, but you will also get to use the full arsenal of Link’s weapons.
Instead of the good ol’ Mystery Mushroom power-up, now you’ll get to snatch the Master Sword, which will then turn you into the Legendary Warrior of time! From then and onwards, you’ll get to chop foes using your sword, throw some bombs at the obstacles ahead, wield and fire a bow, and even protect yourself from projectiles using your shield!
Are you excited – because we certainly are! However, the new additions don’t end with Link’s arrival. The 2.0.0 also brings quite a few stage-creation elements like frozen coins, P-Blocks, and even Dash Blocks. Two new opponents are also joining the scene: Spike and Pokey guarantee your experience will be much sharper.
Lastly, players will also get the Ninji Speedruns – these are the online driven timed challenge courses, here you’ll get to compete in numerous Nintendo developed stages alongside other players’ ghosts! These ghosts were first introduced in Super Mario Bros. 2, and now Ninji Ghosts are making their competitive return! Watch other players perform and improve your own style alongside!
