If you’re a fan of Ubisoft’s The Division 2, you will be pleased to know that after a long period of content drought, the developers are finally gearing up to release the next major update for the game. However, it won’t be here soon, since Ubisoft announced that the next update should land later than expected, sometime by the end of 2021. Until then, Ubisoft plans to recycle content from prior seasons in order to give players something to do while they wait.
As for the new patch, the information provided indicates that the next major The Division 2 update will introduce “a new game mode along with new means of progression”. However, not many details about this are known so far since content development is still in its early stages. However, Ubisoft’s representative stated that the goal of this new update is to present players with more gameplay variety. Of course, rumors about battle-royale game mode emerged almost instantly…
In any case, we hope to learn about this next patch in the upcoming months and weeks leading to its launch. Since there’s no release date yet, we expect to learn more about The Division 2 update in the next Ubisoft presentation that should happen sometime in summer.
If you never played The Division 2 before, now it’s a great time to start. Until the next patch releases, Ubisoft will be recycling their old seasons giving new players a chance to experience old quests, missions, etc. As for existing The Division 2 players, there will be another chance to collect all of the collectibles players missed from previous seasons.
