Horror game fans have been eagerly waiting for some news about the upcoming Xbox-exclusive – The Medium. The game was supposed to be released prior this holiday season but was delayed in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Now its release date is set for January 28th, and to boost its signal, the developers decided to drop a new video showing off some of The Medium’s gameplay.
The new video is a long one. Bloober Team decided to give their fans an extended look at the gameplay of The Medium. They call their game “a one of its kind horror game where you can play in the real world and the spirit world at the same time.”
It’s worth pointing out that The Medium gives out some familiar old-school horror vibes. Maybe it’s due to a fact that the game’s soundtrack is composed by Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, or maybe that the freaky monster the Maw is voiced by Troy Baker himself?
In any case, we have to be honest that this does look like one of a kind game, and upon witnessing it in action, we’re sure to add it to our list of “must play” games. If you like horror games, we suggest you do the same.
The Medium will be released for Xbox Series X/S and PC. It should be available to play through Xbox Game Pass on its launch day on January 28th.
