If you thought that one of the best games of 2015 is a thing of the past, think again. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt just surpassed its concurrent player record, beating its original numbers by quite a margin. All thanks to a new Netflix show and a special price of Steam Winter Sale.
While it wasn’t entirely unexpected (this could be the reason why Steam WInter Sale featured The Witcher 3), Netflix show made sure that The Witcher 3 is currently sitting in 7th place of the most played games on the Steam list, right between Destiny 2 and Team Fortress 2.
The news was noticed by CD Projekt RED’s Global Community Lead Marcin Momot, who shared the current date on Twitter. However, that Tweet is already old since today’s stats show that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt already peaked at 94 651 players:
For comparison, the biggest concurrent players’ size on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game – until this point – was during its launch month when 92 268 players played the game simultaneously. Afterwards, the player numbers have dropped significantly and seen an increase only during the week of Blood and Wine expansion launch. However, this was back in 2016 and ever since then, the player numbers haven’t risen higher than the 60 000 players mark.
So… Who’s ready to kill some monsters and play some Gwent?
