Over the weekend CD Projekt Red dropped a surprising bit of news stating that their biggest game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will get a next-gen treatment. Apparently, the team is committed to making The Witcher 3 a suitable addition to your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X games’ library without any additional fee. That is if you own the original, of course.
According to the news, The Witcher 3 will get a new edition of the game that will feature plenty of technical improvements. CD Project Red promises to release a game with enhanced visuals, texture and animation improvements, ray tracing support, and ever way faster loading times, to run smoothly on next-generation hardware.
If you’re an avid The Witcher 3 fan and already own the game on PC, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4, this new enhanced edition will be free, although only PC players will benefit from these new visuals since you’ll need PS5 or Xbox Series X to enjoy the new look of Wild Hunt. However, if you decide to purchase a next-generation console you will be eligible to get a free upgrade.
As for the rest of the player base, it’s a great way to get acquainted with The Witcher 3 game. While we still don’t know the exact price of the game, it’s also worth mentioning that this new edition of the game will be a complete one meaning that it will tackle the game’s DLCs as well as the core game. Even if you haven’t played The Witcher 3 before, it seems like a pretty sweet deal for everyone interested to try it.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Enhanced Edition currently has no release date, but the developers said that they hope to release it sometime next year. And frankly, we can’t wait to sink in another hundred hours into this awesome game. Will you join?
