With Valorant’s Act 2 being just around the corner, developers decided to share some good news with the player community and announced a new agent. Killjoy, a genius inventor from Germany who loves building robots, will be a Sentinel type of hero, meaning that her strength lies in defending rather than attacking. It’s the 12th agent in Valorant.
Her ability kit includes Alarmbot, Turret, Nanoswarm, and an ultimate called Lockdown. Here’s how Riot Games describes her kit:
Alarmbot
EQUIP a covert Alarmbot. FIRE to deploy a bot that hunts down enemies that get in range. After reaching its target, the bot explodes, applying Vulnerable. HOLD EQUIP to recall a deployed bot.
Turret
EQUIP a Turret. FIRE to deploy a turret that fires at enemies in a 180-degree cone. HOLD EQUIP to recall the deployed turret.
Nanoswarm
EQUIP a Nanoswarm grenade. FIRE to throw the grenade. Upon landing, the Nanoswarm goes covert. ACTIVATE the Nanoswarm to deploy a damaging swarm of nanobots.
Ultimate ability — Lockdown
EQUIP the Lockdown device. FIRE to deploy the device. After a long windup, the device Detains all enemies caught in the radius. The device can be destroyed by enemies.
The main concern about the new agent in the community is, of course, her Turret ability, meaning that Killjoy can pick up kills even without being present in a fight. However, Riot Games are saying that Turret damage should serve as a nuisance for the enemy team rather than a strong ability with huge kill potential.
We’ll see how all of this will look in a live game fairly soon. Valorant Act 2 begins in a few days, on August 4th. Be sure to stack up some Valorant points before then to be the first to master Killjoy.
