Today, Valorant is kicking off its second Act and adds plenty of new things to the game. We already wrote about the new ranked mode system and a new Agent named Killjoy, however, the latest developer update revealed a new battle pass and long-awaited Deathmatch game mode.
According to Riot Games, the new game mode will be very simplistic. In it the players will get a chance to play the game at their own pace, meaning that there won’t be any game timers, objectives, Agent abilities, or teams for that matter. Moreso, in each new Deathmatch round players will have unlimited money to spend on their favorite weapons. In other words, it’s only you and your shooting skills against everyone else.
Deathmatch mode was on high demand from Valorant’s player base since the launch of the game’s beta test. Until now, the game didn’t feature any mode (apart from training) where players could warm up before hopping into a proper game. The shortest game mode until this point was Spike Rush that pitted players against each other in a flashy best-of-7 match with various buffs scattered across the map.
Valorant’s Deathmatch mode will be turned on August 5th, one day after Act 2 starts.
In addition to a new mode, Riot games also revealed a new battle pass which will serve up some new rewards – weapon skins, gun buddies, sprays, player cards, titles, and RP. It will work in the same way as the battle pass from Act 1 – you can purchase the pass and unlock rewards by playing (and hopefully winning) games.
Lastly, there’s a new set of premium skins coming to the game called Glitchpop. If you like neon colors, you will want to add this to your collection.
