July is ending and that means it’s about time to reveal a new pack of games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Like every month, Xbox is swapping out their games list on their Xbox Game With Gold service and introduces four new titles for free. August is the last month of summer and Xbox is closing the season with a bang. Take a look:
Gears of War 4
Form August 1st until August 31st Xbox Live Gold subscribers will get a chance to download one of the most iconic Xbox titles to their console completely free. Gears of War 4 is a third-person shooter video game developed by The Coalition which was originally released in 2016. In its time the game was nominated as Best Action and Best Multiplayer game in 2016s The Game Awards which is reason enough to give it a try. Additionally, the sequel to the game, Gears 5, is coming out in September. Perfect time to catch up with the story, don’t you think?
Forza Motorsport 6
Forza Motorsport 6 is a racing video game developed by Turn 10 Studios. It is the eighth overall installment in the Forza series which was released worldwide in 2015. Forza Motorsport 6 is known for its simulation-based vehicle handling which means that each car behaves as close to its real-world counterpart as possible. The game features more than 450 cars and 27 racing tracks. We should also add that Forza Motorsport 6 features a story mode called “Stories of Motorsport”, which adds almost 70 hours of gameplay. If you’re a racing fan, don’t miss it. The game will be free to download starting August 16th and will be available until September 15th.
Torchlight
Players who own Xbox 360 and Xbox One (through backward compatibility) will get a chance to play one of the greatest action RPG games of the decade. Torchlight was released in 2009 by Runic Games, a team established by many former Diablo developers. Back in the day, the game was praised by critics due to its phenomenal music, art direction, and addictive combat mechanics. Now, after 10 years, the game still holds up to action RPG standards, so if you never got a chance to try it, be sure to grab your free copy during August 1st-15th period.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
Last, but not least on the list of free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers is an iconic series representative Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. It’s an action-adventure video game developed by MercurySteam and Kojima Productions which was released back in 2010. It’s worth mentioning that Lords of Shadow isn’t your everyday Castlevania game. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow features a huge variety of new enemy types, new progression system, and large-scale bosses. The game will be available for Xbox 360 and Xbox One players from August 16th until August 31st.
