Yesterday, PlayStation released a new landing site on their official web page where players can register for an opportunity to be one of the first to pre-order their PlayStation 5 console. Apparently, Sony already made calculations and found that the demand for the new console will be immense, meaning that if you want to get your PS5 on launch day, you need to book one directly from Sony. One catch though – currently, there’s no price for it.
The text on the page reads as follows:
“There will be a limited quantity of PS5 consoles available for pre-order, so we will be inviting some of our existing consumers to be one of the first to pre-order one from PlayStation.
Pre-order reservations will be taken on a first-come-first-serve basis, so once you get an invite via email, we encourage you to follow instructions and act fast.
If you are interested in receiving an invitation, register below.
If selected, we will contact you via email with instructions and details.”
So yeah… Click HERE if you’re afraid to miss your opportunity to buy this thing for a yet unknown price. Jesus Christ, Sony! Maybe just tell us the price already?
According to their official FAQ section, one person will be eligible to pre-order:
- 1 PS5 Console or 1 PS5 Digital Edition
- 2 DualSense wireless controllers
- 2 DualSense charging stations
- 2 Pulse 3D wireless headsets
- 2 Media remotes
- 2 HD Cameras
It’s also worth noting that currently these pre-orders only work in the US. If you’re not from the US, your orders will be canceled, so don’t bother. In any case, most likely PlayStation 5 will be priced differently in Europe and other regions. And who knows, maybe we’ll get enough PS5 consoles and that’s just a trick for US consumers…
No price, no official release date, and everyone is crazy about it. Sony knows how to create artificial hype. We expect to learn more about it in the coming months since PlayStation 5 should launch prior to the 2020s holiday season. Or at least Sony says so.
