Marvel Rivals Battle Pass: Everything You Need To Know
The beginning of the new year brings excitement for superhero gamer fans, as it comes with the launch of the Marvel Rivals Battle Pass and the arrival of the highly anticipated Season 1: Eternal Night Falls. This means a couple of super neat things:
First, Marvel, together with NetEase Games, brings us an incredible, brand-new storyline in which “Dracula and Doctor Doom disrupt the moon’s orbit, plunging the city into eternal night and unleashing an army of vampiric creatures.”
Seemingly inspired by last year’s Blood Hunt comic events that also set up the 2025 mega-event One World Under Doom, this season will surely be an immersive thrill with rewards that are too sweet to pass up.
Second, with Doctor Strange trapped in the Entangled Astral Plane and Darkhold pages scattered all over the place, we’ll finally get to hit the battlefield as members of the Fantastic Four, who arrive to assist our heroes in the battle over three new Empire of Eternal Nights maps.
The Invisible Woman and Mister Fantastic are available right now, while the Human Torch and The Thing will be joining later this season.
Marvel Rivals Season One Battle Pass Details
I gotta say, this season definitely gets me pumped. A superhero team-based PVP game can hardly have too many storylines, characters, or maps, so I love that the devs are not being stingy with that.
But what’s even cooler is that this season offers at least twice as much stuff for customizing your experience as the previous one, meaning that now we can dominate our foes with even more style than before.
Neatly packed inside Season 1 Battle Pass, you’ll find a bunch of very cool skins, some slick emotes and MVP animations, badass nameplates, in-game currency, a whole lot of sprays, a couple of gallery cards, and one seriously dope collectible.
In short, this season offers tons of stuff that I believe any of us would hate to miss out on, and I don’t know about you guys, but I’m going for it.
Just like with almost any other battle pass, there are some free rewards to give you a little taste of what’s in store. However, if you want to get all that good stuff, you’ll have to purchase one of the two Luxury Battle Pass versions, giving you access to the full collection.
Regardless of your chosen route, the seasonal unlockables can only be earned by acquiring and spending the purple Chrono Tokens, which you mostly get by playing the game and completing daily and weekly objectives.
What’s Included in the Marvel Rivals Battle Pass?
Marvel Rivals Season 1 Battle Pass comes with a whole bunch of various goodies. Most of the 11 pages include 7 unlockables, costing 200-400 Chrono Tokens apiece. Here’s a short overview of what you can expect:
Cosmetic Rewards
If you’re anything like me and you love looking cool while racking up those Ws, you’ll be delighted to learn that there are a total of 10 Marvel Rivals skins for different combatants, two of which you can get even if you don’t want to spend precious Lattice on the luxury version of the battle pass.
There’s a slight catch though, because, aside from All-Butcher Loki skin, which you get right after purchasing the luxury battle pass, all cosmetics can only be claimed when you clear out the rest of the page.
In-Game Currency
While it’s not something you can actually wear to the battlefield or show off in a game room, Units and Lattice, which you can collect a total of 600 of each, will surely come in handy no matter how you choose to spend them.
You could get something nice in the game store. Or, perhaps, it makes more sense to tuck them away for later? After all, when it comes to the question of ‘how to get Lattice in Marvel Rivals,’ there are only so many ways to do it, and when the next season rolls out, it might be nice to already have over half of its price saved up.
Exclusive Nameplates, Emotes, MVP Animations, and Sprays
Customization in Marvel Rivals isn’t limited to only changing your heroes’ looks. As you make your way through the Season 1 Battle Pass and unlock rewards, you’ll come across 11 nameplates, two of which are animated, so you can be sure that you’ll stand out from the crowd.
You should also be on the lookout for 6 emotes and 7 MVP animations that work in perfect combination with some of the skins you’ll acquire along the way. And to top it all off, you’ll also find not one or two, but a total of 16 different sprays to mark the fighting grounds with and let everyone know who’s in charge.
Gallery and One Collectible
Marvel Rivals Season 1 comes with a whole new storyline for players to experience, titled Eternal Night Falls. To get the most out of it, you’ll have to collect a total of 9 gallery cards for the in-game comic, two of which you can unlock as free rewards in the Battle Pass, while the rest will be rewarded for completing event missions.
Among the other freebies of this season’s Battle Pass, you will also find nothing more or less than Darkhold itself. Now, since it’s a collectible, you won’t actually be able to use its power against your opponents, but there’s something cool about knowing that you got the book of the damned lying around in your personal collection.
Accelerated Progression
Unlocking all this stuff is fun, yet it can get a little time-consuming. Fortunately, Marvel Rivals Season 1 comes with an upgraded Luxury Battle Pass option.
If you don’t mind spending a little extra, you can get all that the regular Luxury Battle Pass gives plus a 20% Chrono Token acquisition boost for the whole season and an additional 2,800 of the said currency to help you progress at a much faster rate.
How to Purchase the Marvel Rivals Battle Pass?
If you decide that the rewards are too good to pass up, you’ll need to purchase the Luxury Season 1 Battle Pass. Both versions can be acquired directly in-game, with the regular Luxury Pass going for 990 Lattice and the upgraded version going for up to 2,100 Lattice.
Now, in case you don’t have a second to spare, the most straightforward path would be heading to the game store and buying either 1,000 Lattice for $9.99 or 2,180 Lattice for $19.99, depending on which pass you seek.
However, if you’re not in too big of a rush and have an extra minute to spare, there are better ways to get what you need, as buying Lattice from other vendors will not only be cheaper but will usually also come with a nice little cashback to your account on their page, which you can later use to get more in-game currency or buy anything else.

How to Claim Rewards from the Marvel Rivals Battle Pass?
As I briefly mentioned above, claiming season’s unlockables from the Marvel Rivals Battle Pass requires Chrono Tokens. This is true regardless of whether you have the free or luxury version of the pass.
Unlocking Page 2 and following also requires the player to earn 1,200 tokens per page. Fortunately, this number is the total of what you earned during the season and not your current balance, meaning that you can spend the currency without any worries.
There are a couple of things that you can do to earn Chrono Tokens. The first and probably the most efficient way is to do Daily and Weekly Missions, Challenges, and certain Event Missions. All of these tasks can be found on the “Mission” tab, and will always have the purple currency icon against them, indicating how big of a reward they offer.
If you decide that you want to rush things along, you can also earn Chrono Tokens by using Lattice. This can be done by purchasing the upgraded version of the Luxury Battle Pass, which grants you additional tokens and boosts their acquisition rate, or by directly buying them in the game’s store, with the latter being a very expensive option that I wouldn’t recommend unless necessary.
When you’re a Luxury Battle Pass holder, you’ll be able to unlock these rewards even long after the current season is over, accessing them through the Reality Link Point.
And if, by the end of the season, you have any unspent Chrono Tokens, they will automatically carry over to the next one, with the only catch being that you can’t bring a higher amount than you already spent during this season. This applies to both free and luxury passes.
