AYANEO Reveal World’s First Mini PC With Flip Screen
Stylish retro device company AYANEO recently revealed its latest creation: the Mini PC AM01S. A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but the company has shared device specifications.
The Mini PC AM01S joins AYANEO’s Remake range of devices, which includes the Pocket Micro, Pocket DMG and Retro Power Bank.
“Remake concept redefines classics,” AYANEO said on its official website. “Mini PC with innovative flip screen. Adjustable angles for practicality. Vividly recaptures the charm of legendary computers.”
Flipscreen Aesthetics
The 4 inch smart screen can be laid flat, so the Mini PC can be stood up to mimic a classic desktop, complete with a little retro rainbow badge that echoes the vintage Apple logo from the 1980s.
Alternatively, the device can be laid down and the screen lifted up, so there’s easier access to the ports. The screen can also be used in landscape mode so it improves app compatibility.
Other Specs
AYANEO presents itself as a company founded by gamers for gamers. To this end, the AM01S comes with an embedded AMD Ryzen 8000HS GPU and AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU, which should have no issues running contemporary games.
As with other devices from AYANEO, the Mini PC comes with the AYASpace 2.5, the latest version of the company’s proprietary game management software, that allows the use of emulators as well as links to modern game stores.
Dual 65W cooling fans help keep this tiny powerhouse from overheating, and eight ports mean there are plenty of connectivity options, from USB4 to HDMI and 2.5G ethernet. Note, however, that while it’s listed as having dual SSD, this refers to slots, not actual SSD hardware.
Not Its First Mini PC
Although the AM01S is being presented as the first Mini PC with a flip secondary screen design, it’s not AYANEO’s first mini PC, nor its first with a screen.
The company released the Mini PC AM02 in early 2024, which has very similar specs but comes in a sleek black and gray NES-style retro design.
AYANEO posted on its official X account that it would reveal more updates about the new Mini PC soon, including price and release date.
